The Watervliet City
School District will again be receiving
"Contract for Excellence" (C4E) monies from
the state. This additional funding will be
targeted to support our educational program
and improve academic achievement. We have
been actively soliciting public input on the C4E process
since June, both on this website and at two
public meetings. To date, we have received
no public comment. The district submitted
our contract to the state on Wednesday,
September 10.
The contract was
approved by State Education Commissioner
Richard Mills as of October 2, 2008. Please read on below to learn more about the district's Contract for Excellence.

Prior to the 2007-08 school
year, the Watervliet City School District entered
into a "Contract for Excellence" (C4E) with the New
York State Education Department. The four-year
contract provides the district with additional
funding to create and augment an assortment of
educational programs and initiatives designed to
improve academic achievement. Please read on to
