Board
President is a master!
January 20, 2009
Congratulations to Board of Education President Mark Scully
on receiving the New York State School Boards Association's
(NYSSBA) Master of Boardsmanship Award. This award is the
highest honor that a board member can receive through
NYSSBA's Leadership Development Recognition Program, which
is designed to acknowledge the extensive time and effort
required of school board members who strive continually to
expand their governance knowledge and skills. In order to
earn this award, an individual must complete all eight
School Board Institute Courses and achieve at least 200
points through NYSSBA developmental events and activities.
"This is
our highest honor and one that is earned by very few
board members, " said Lynne Lenhardt, NYSSBA Area 7
Director, who is also an active member of the Bethlehem
School District's Board of Education, the Capital Region
BOCES Board of Education and the Tech Valley High School
operating board. Lenhardt took a night out of her busy
schedule to be on hand to present Scully's award
personally.
Aside
from a very nice certificate, Mr. Scully also received
free registration to next year's NYSSBA Annual
Convention, a commemorative medallion and a "Mastery
Award" lapel pin.
Congratulations Mr. Scully!
