Kindergarten and first grade students had the opportunity to take part in an exciting workshop with the Ellen Sinopoli Dance Company this week. The district has worked in partnership with the company for the past three years. This year the workshop focused on a connection of literacy and movement. Ellen came and read stories to the children, including: DANCE by Bill T. Jones, TWO LEFT FEET by Adam Stower, GIRAFFES CAN’T DANCE by Giles Andreae, and WATER DANCE by Thomas Locker. After each story students participated in movement games and interactive activities designed to improve their grasp of the story and to help them just have fun!
