Students plant seeds in garden, sow seeds of learning

A small group of volunteers prepared the raised garden beds at Watervliet Elementary School for planting. Then, a few days later, students began planting seeds and learning. By growing vegetables, including squash, beans and corn, the garden will help teach students about healthy eating. In addition to learning about science, the environment and nutrition, caring for the garden will also help young students strengthen gross and fine motor skills. Thanks to SM Gallivan, Cap Com, Saratoga Sod, and the Grimmick family for making the garden possible.
