Kindergartners participate in the annual Apple Fun Run on a perfect October afternoon.

Watervliet Elementary School couldn't have asked for a more picture-perfect autumn day for its annual Kindergarten Apple Run, which took place Friday, October 7.
Students in all five kindergarten classes took turns running in groups as fast as they could around a makeshift track outside the school as family members, teachers and coaches cheered them on to the finish line.
"We may have some future track and cross-country athletes here," said Elementary Principal Terri O'Brien.
The kindergartners then enjoyed some cider donuts and apple cider before heading back to class. View Photo Gallery
