WES students wea hats they designed Hat contest demonstrates students' creativity and character

Watervliet Elementary School hosted a Hats On for Good Character fundraiser for the Character Education Committee in April. For a small donation, students from Pre-K through grade 6 had an opportunity to wear or, if they chose, design a hat. Many students elected to design hats based on the character education values they have learned about this year including friendship, fairness, responsibility and respect.

Grand prize winners received a book bag and water bottle, while grade level winners received gift certificates for Stewart's ice cream. Fun was had by all participants!
