Welcome Back Letter to Parents
Dear Watervliet Elementary School Families,
It is with great excitement that I introduce myself to you, the Watervliet Elementary School community, as the new principal of your school. I am joining the school community with several years of experience in the Watervliet City School District, most recently serving as Assistant Principal at the Jr-Sr High School and having also served as an Instructional Math Coach within the district. I was able to grow my passion for both teaching and learning as a middle school math teacher and I am excited to now share that passion with the families and staff at Watervliet Elementary School.
Your child’s assignment for the 2016-2017 school year will be on the Parent Portal effective Monday, August 22, 2016. Directions on how to set up access to the Parent Portal are available here. Our district goal is to have 100% Parent Portal participation.
Each grade level has a supply list that has been posted on the district website, as well as being sent home in the report card envelope. If you would like a hard copy, please feel free to stop into the main office between 7:30 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. I also encourage you to regularly visit our website for information and news regarding our school and district.
Please note the following important dates for our first weeks of school:
First day of school — Wednesday, September 7 with the day beginning at 8:35 a.m. All staff will be in the halls and around the building to help students find their way to their classrooms.
September 7 — Kindergarten Rolling Start download flyer

Again, I look forward to working with you and the dedicated teachers and staff of Watervliet Elementary School while further developing exciting and enriching opportunities for our students. I welcome you to contact me with any questions, concerns, or suggestions. This is going to be a great year!
