Get to know the support staff who welcome students (and their parents) to school every day

Most parents are familiar with their children's classroom teachers, but how many actually know the other adults their children interact with at school throughout the course of a day? This web page offers parents an opportunity to get to know WES staff better, starting with 13 individuals who greet families each morning as parents drop their children off at school or who welcome students as they get off the bus at school.

These staff members play an important role providing encouragement and support from the moment students arrive at school in the morning to the second they leave the building in the afternoon. Parents may recognize the smiling faces pictured below, but probably didn’t know that most of these individuals are devout coffee drinkers, or that about half prefer peanut M&Ms to the plain variety. Perhaps most importantly, all of them without hesitation gave the same response when asked why they choose to work at Watervliet Elementary School. To learn the answer to that question and more, click on the staff member’s name to reveal a short Q&A.
