This Honors Science course will contain an accelerated physical science component for the first half of the year will create a solid foundation for the introduction to the nanotechnology component during the second half of the year.

• Develop independent learners that are given the opportunity to learn and apply advanced problem solving and in-depth study using critical thinking
  
• Mastery of the New York State Math, Science & Technology Standards as well the ability to focus on extending these standards by applying and integrating higher level concepts
  
• Inform and educate students about nanotechnology, submicron measurement and the present and future applications of the technology
  
• Improve science, math and technical knowledge and skills through true, real-world experiences in and out of the classroom
  
• Give students the tools and knowledge to become life-long learners and leaders
  
• Offer opportunities for students to experience how to become future leaders in the global industrial revolution of the 21st century with onsite visits to the CNSE and local engineering business
