WJSHS
singers experience Harmony Extreme!
August 2009
Mrs. Bradway and six members of Delta Force
recently returned from an incredible musical experience at
Harmony Extreme Camp Northeast. The camp is organized and
designed to give students the opportunity to sing various genres
of acapella music and to receive coaching from top directors and
teachers from the Barbershop Harmony Society. For the young men's
chorus it is an intense 3 1/2 days of rehearsals and coaching
sessions and for the first ever they added a one day camp for
young women. Mrs. Bradway participated in the educators program
which consisted of seminars and open discussions about vocal
music. She also had the opportunity to sing in an educators
chorus. On the last day of the camp all groups performed in a
concert that received standing ovations from an appreciative
audience. Also performing in the concert were award winning
quartets from the Barbeshop Harmony Society and Harmony
Incorporated. This camp is fully funded by the Barbershop Harmony
Society.
Watervliet students that participated: Nick Hodges, Adrian
Blackman, Stephen Perrott, Kevin Angus, Andrew Lynch and Emily
Roden.
