Bullying prevention event, free school supplies

Grades 7-8 students and their parents are invited to a discussion on bullying prevention with the Watervliet City School District’s new School Resource Officer Josh Spratt on Tuesday, October 1 at 6:30 p.m. at the Watervliet Civic Center. Students in grades 1-8 who attend will receive free school supplies and refreshments will be served. The event is sponsored by the Watervliet Civic Center and the Watervliet Elks Lodge #1500. All incoming students to grades 7-8 are required to read a minimum of two books over the summer. Reading lists are available by grade level and include many titles and a variety of genres to appeal to every student.
