Homecoming weekend: Oct. 7-8

Watervliet High School students have been getting in the spirit all week, preparing for Homecoming Weekend. The Homecoming Dance is Friday, Oct. 7 at 6:30 p.m., and on Saturday, the Homecoming Football Game versus Taconic Hills begins at 1 p.m. View Spirit Week photo gallery

The Harry Tucker plaque will be dedicated during half-time at the Homecoming game. The new Tucker gym will be open following the game for those interested in seeing the facility. Read more

Meanwhile, students enrolled in the school's Gourmet Foods class were busy Friday afternoon making preparations for the 250 chicken barbecue dinners that will be sold during Saturday's game.

The Watervliet Athletic Hall of Fame Induction Ceremony is Saturday night at Michael's Banquet House in Cohoes. Nine athletes and coaches and one championship team are being inducted this year.
