October 19, 2016
Watervliet Jr./Sr. High School’s annual No Place for Hate Week begins Monday, Oct. 24 with a presentation by the New York State Police for grades 7-8 students. An investigator from the NYSP will discuss topics such as cyberbullying, sexting, Internet safety, and making smart choices with social media, including what colleges and companies look for in a potential student’s or employee’s digital footprint.
Tuesday is Take What You Need Day, which encourages students to take whatever it is they need -- whether it be kindness, peace, courage, happiness or hope -- from posters around the school containing those and other positive words.
On Wednesday, Oct. 26 when you dine at Panera Bread bakery/cafe in Latham from 4:00 to 8:00 p.m., a portion of the proceeds will help support the school’s Character Ed/No Place for Hate program. download panera flyer (must present flyer at time of sale)
Friday is Hat Day. For a $1 donation students are invited to wear a favorite hat to school.
