Josh Veshia picks up 100th wrestling
victory
Congratulations to
senior wrestler Josh Veshia who picked up his 100th win during the
Cannoneers' meet against Lansingburgh last week. Josh joins just a
handful of Watervliet wrestlers to achieve this amazing
accomplishment. Josh is pictured below with Watervliet
Superintendent of Schools Dr. Lori S. Caplan and teacher Terry
Bradway following his win Thursday, Jan. 19.

Turnout strong for alumni wrestling event

The Watervliet
Athletic Department hosted its second annual Alumni Wrestling Night
on Jan. 11 at Watervliet High School. The gathering brings past WHS
wrestlers and coaches back to the school, providing an opportunity
for former teammates to get reacquainted, and helps promote the
sport of wrestling in the community.

Money raised for girls basketball
Thanks
to the efforts of the Arsenal City Girls' Basketball Organization,
County Legislator Bob Beston and Jim Gates, $6300 was raised for the
Watervliet girls' basketball program, to assist with camps and other
special program expenses.
2011 Girls' Tip-Off Basketball Tournament
The annual Watervliet High School Girls’ Tip-Off Basketball Tournament will be held Friday, Nov. 25 and Saturday, Nov. 26. All-day adult tickets are $3, students $2. see pairings

Watervliet Brick Campaign - To order your 4 x 8 engraved brick please click on Vliet_Brick_Campaign_form.pdf. The raised funds will go to the additional display cases and to assist with expenses associated with the donated sculpture by artist Keith Johnson of Atlanta, Georgia which will be displayed in the Hall of Fame room. All bricks will be displayed near the new gym lobby entrance.
