Family Opportunity Center

The Family Opportunity Center is a fluid space for students and families to connect with their school community on a meaningful level, addressing a variety of needs.

Examples of areas we serve:

  • Mental health
  • Physical safety
  • Academic needs
  • Food insecurity
  • Transportation
  • Housing needs/homelessness
  • Any other needs impacting your family

Watervliet City School District provides this space so that extra attention is paid to every part of a student’s life, encouraging well-rounded success and wellness.

Extend our reach

“Every student, every day” starts at home. We can do more for our students, together.

Improve relationships

When students see mutual respect and communication between home and school, their relationships thrive.

Increase wellbeing for all

With strong families, our students advance in academics and can begin to make plans for their future.

We can meet you where you are and help meet the needs you identify. Meeting spaces are available at school, the Civ, your housing office, Watervliet Library, etc.

We can connect you with a variety of resources including: counseling, parenting supports, healthcare, academic supports, childcare, food, transportation, housing assistance, dv services, etc.

School Partners

We can meet with you to break down barriers to school involvement: accessing online portals; attending student meetings; assisting in communication with your child’s school team; etc.
