Salary: $26,000-$31,000 per year plus benefits

Job Description:
Performs a variety of clerical and secretarial duties in support of the main office; prepares and maintains a variety of manual and automated records; assures a smooth and efficient office; answers phones; maintains files; makes photocopies; greets and assists students, faculty, staff, parents and others; receives, screens and routes telephone calls; takes and relays messages; resolves issues as they arise.
Minimum Qualifications:
- Must be a resident of Albany County, preference is given to residents of the City of Watervliet.
- Applicant will be appointed provisionally – subject to score on Civil Service exam (date of exam to be determined) and fingerprint clearance.
- Computer skills include advanced use of Word and/or Google Docs and Excel and/or Google Spreadsheets. Ability to learn in-house education software programs, including e-school.
- Ability to work with students/staff in varied social/cultural backgrounds.
- Ability to handle multiple jobs simultaneously, handle deadlines, and prioritize office needs.
- Maintain confidentiality and flexibility.
- Must possess excellent organizational skills, creative problem-solving skills, and effective communication skills.
- Experience with elementary school students is a plus.
