Anticipated Coordinator of Student Support Services

Location: Watervliet City School District
Start Date: September 5, 2024
Salary: $51,617.00 per WTA Contract

Job Description:

  1. Promote social-emotional education and a positive school climate district-wide.
  2. Provide required transition services, which includes a results-oriented process focused on improving the academic and functional achievement of students with disabilities as they move from school to post-school activities, including but not limited to, post-secondary education, vocational education, supported employment, adult services, independent living or community participation.
  3. Support career development and opportunities for students to participate in work-based learning and multiple pathways to graduation.
  4. Engage students and families in need to reduce barriers that prevent academic success, including family outreach to maximize access to community-based resources.
  5. Consult, assist, and implement school-wide multi-tiered systems of support, specifically for social-emotional health/behavioral support, and assist with the development/ implementation of individual crisis, behavior, safety, and attendance plans
  6. Work collaboratively with school leaders, teachers, school support staff, students, and families to ensure students achieve success

Minimum Qualifications:

  1. Valid NYS Certification as a school building, school district leader, or school counselor 
  2. Preferred candidates will have experience in the area of transition services and case management
  3.  Ability to work with students/staff in varied social/cultural backgrounds.
  4. Ability to demonstrate job expectations.
