WES Drama Club’s Winter Showcase features fun skits, songs and dance

The Watervliet Elementary School Drama Club performed their Winter Showcase on Feb. 3 — opening with a roaring full cast dance routine from the musical, The Lion King.

About two dozen students appeared in four short skits based on famous stories and folk tales including Beauty and the Beast, The Princess and the Pea, The Little Red Hen and The Pied Piper. The entire cast gathered on stage to close their performance with “Any Dream Will Do,” an iconic song from the popular musical Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat. Bravo to all aspiring actors, singers and dancers!

A shout-out also to the WES Art Club and adviser Abby Lammon for their assistance with scenery and costumes. Thank you to Drama Club Director Andrew Cowie and Assistant Director (and WHS senior) Kylee Shellenberger for sharing your talents and encouragement with students!
