City issues notification about water system in the area of Hillside Drive, Watervliet Jr.-Sr. High School

The City of Watervliet has notified us that a recent sampling of the water system that serves Hillside Drive, which includes the Watervliet Jr.-Sr. High School, found levels of Trihalomethanes (THMs) that exceed Health Department Maximum Contaminants Levels (MCL) requirements. The City has assured us this is not an emergency and the drinking water is safe for drinking, cooking and washing.

We are sharing this information with our students, families and staff to make you aware of the notification. You can learn about THMs and the steps being taken to correct the situation on the City’s website.
