WES students celebrate Dr. Seuss and reading on March 1
On Thursday, March 1, Watervliet Elementary School students, parents and teachers celebrated Dr. Seuss’s birthday and Read Across America Day with a “Rock Concert” featuring performances by Watervliet High School’s à capella singing group – Delta Force and resident UPK musician: Andy “THE MUSIC MAN” Morse. In recognition of Read Across America Day, teachers encouraged each student to read for a total of five (5) hours prior to the concert. Upon entrance to the “Rock Concert” students entered their reading log into a drawing for Dr. Seuss books, stuffed toys and a grand prize – an Amazon Kindle Fire!
