The Capital Area School Development Association (CASDA) recently honored Kirsten DeMento, Watervliet City School District’s Director of Accountability and Educational Programs, with an Excellence in District Administrative Leadership Award.
Superintendent of Schools Dr. Donald Stevens presented the award to Ms. DeMento during a ceremony on April 30. Dr. Stevens shared that she has made a lasting impact on students and staff over her 24-year tenure with the school district in which she has served in a variety of leadership roles, including as his mentor.
“To many of us, her most meaningful contribution has been as a mentor—generously sharing her time, expertise, and guidance with colleagues across the District,” Dr. Stevens said. “As she prepares for her retirement this June, we are especially grateful for the leadership, support, and dedication she has shown throughout her career.”
Congratulations Ms. DeMento on this well-deserved recognition and we thank you for your many years of dedicated service to Watervliet’s students, staff and families.
