Cabin Fever Day fun spread throughout both schools

BINGO!

Students and staff alike enjoyed a fun-filled Cabin Fever Day as they prepared for winter break next week. The day kicked off with all-district ZOOM BINGO games! Students from prekindergarten through grade 12 had their BINGO cards and markers in hand and anxiously waited as school principals and administrators called out the letters and numbers. It wasn’t long before enthusiastic shouts of BINGO could be heard in classrooms and through computer speakers.

Scavenger Hunt Teamwork

Following BINGO, students participated in scavenger hunts in both buildings. Students worked in small teams scouring their schools top to bottom for items on the scavenger hunt list, which ranged from a high heel shoe to a clip board, a paint brush to a man’s tie, a Hula hoop to an egg carton, a yearbook to a coffee cup, and so much more! The groups of students who found all or the most items on the list received prizes for their classrooms.

Boxing Glove Basketball a Hit!

At Watervliet Jr.-Sr. High School, student and staff spectators watched with excitement as members of the Class of 2022 competed with teachers and staff in a friendly yet fierce game of boxing glove basketball. While at Watervliet Elementary, older students served as reading buddies in primary classrooms, happily sharing their favorite stories with their younger peers.

In between these activities, students engaged in fun learning activities such as puzzles, games, and arts and crafts projects.
