Chess Club and MasterMinds face tough competitors

Watervliet High School’s MasterMinds team made a strong effort but did not prevail earlier this week in their matches against two extremely talented teams from Niskayuna and Burnt Hills/Ballston Lake high schools.

Meanwhile, Chess Club members Tolkien Phoenix-Brand, a freshman, lost one game but tied another against a strong Niskayuna opponent, and senior Michael Bendon won a game against a player from Burnt Hills but dropped a close match against a Nisky opponent.
