We have been notified of two confirmed positive cases of COVID-19 in the Watervliet City School District.
Both cases involve individuals from the Watervliet Elementary School community. All contacts associated with these cases have been advised of the need to quarantine as a precaution. Two classrooms have moved to remote learning for the next 10 days as per health department guidelines.
We remind students, families and staff members that although positive cases have declined across the state in recent weeks, COVID-19 is still a risk and it is important to continue to practice safety protocols outside of school, which include practicing good hygiene, wearing masks and following social distance guidelines.
Please DO NOT send your child to school or come to work when feeling sick or exhibiting any of the following symptoms: fever, fatigue/tiredness, muscle/body aches or pains, congestion, cough, runny nose, shortness of breath/difficulty breathing, nausea/vomiting or diarrhea, headache, loss of taste or smell, rash, feeling sick or unwell in any way.
