Regional effort keep the fun and learning happening this summer

Capital Region BOCES has partnered with its 24 component school districts to create a website of fun, enriching summer activities for students in grades K-5.

Summer vacation may look a bit different this year — but Capital Region BOCES has eight weeks of activities to keep children engaged all summer long!

Capital Region BOCES has partnered with its 24 component school districts to create a website of fun, enriching summer activities for students in grades K-5.

“By collaborating with the educators that we have right here in the Capital Region, the site was created as a fun and enriching resource for parents and their elementary aged children as they head into the summer,” said Capital Region BOCES’ Deputy District Superintendent for Curriculum and Instruction Lauren Gemmill.

The Summer Adventure website will provide a range of activities for kids and their families, ranging from cooking to science to arts and crafts to mindful moments. With a mix of independent learning and family fun, parents will have the freedom to choose from a variety of summer adventures for their kids.

“Summer Adventure gives families throughout the state, not just in the Capital Region, the opportunity to enrich their children’s summer in a fun and educational way,” said Capital Region BOCES’ District Superintendent Anita Murphy.

Starting July 3, new activities will be unveiled every Friday through Aug. 21, to keep kids active all summer long. Visit the site to sign up for Summer Adventure activities delivered to your inbox each week.
