New this year
The Watervliet City School District and the Green Island Union Free School District (Heatly School) have joined forces to maximize opportunities for student participation in athletics. This partnership was piloted last year when many, but not all, Watervliet and Heatly athletic teams merged. For the 2023-24 school year, all Green Island and Watervliet interscholastic sports teams will combine, allowing students from both districts to participate in the following programs:
Fall
- Boys Soccer
- Girls Soccer
- Volleyball (Girls)
- Football
- Cross country
- Cheerleading
Winter
- Boys Basketball
- Girls Basketball
- Indoor track and Field (Boys and Girls)
- Wrestling
- Bowling
- Cheerleading
Spring
- Baseball
- Softball
- Track and Field (Boys and Girls)
