J.J. Chestnut scores 1,000th career point
Congratulations to Watervliet High School senior hoops standout J.J. Chestnut who reached the 1,000 points milestone on the Cannoneer’s home court on January 14. The basketball team captain scored 34 points in a victory over the Ichabod Crane squad.

Pair of Cannoneer football players recognized
Shout out to Watervliet High School senior football players Kareem Duncan and Nick McNulty on recently being named to the state Football All-Star Teams by the New York State Sportswriters Association.
Duncan, a running back, and McNulty, a linebacker, earned 2nd team all-state honors for Section II Class C.
