Nearly 40 high school seniors — including students from the EVOLVE alternative education program — were accepted on the spot to Hudson Valley Community College (HVCC) during Instant Admissions Day on Oct. 16.
The event offered the college-bound seniors a valuable opportunity to meet individually with HVCC admissions counselors, complete their applications, and learn more about the academic pathways available to them at the two-year school.
Students expressed interest in a number of HVCC’s associate degree programs including business administration, accounting, computer systems, fine arts, psychology, individual studies (liberal arts), and nursing/health sciences, among others.
The HVCC counselors encouraged seniors to visit the campus and attend an upcoming Open House in November to get further information on financial aid and scholarships that are available. The seniors will receive their official letters of acceptance to HVCC after their applications have been processed over the next several weeks.
