Three Watervliet High School students took the stage to recite their thought-provoking rhymes during the 3rd Annual Capital Region Poetry Slam on April 23 at the Doane Stuart School.

With poems titled “Guts,” “Why” and “Fulgent,” tenth-graders Kharyn Acosta and Adrian Francis, and ninth-grade student Madison Dolan, shared their inspiring words and powerful voices at the poetry recital. They were among the 20 students from 10 schools across the region to deliver intense creativity and expressive emotion through their own original verses at the annual event.
