New this year: After voting last spring to expand its scope to benefit students in all grade levels – prekindergarten through grade 12 – the Watervliet Elementary School Parent-Teacher Association (PTA) is now the Watervliet PTA.
The Watervliet PTA organizes fun monthly events for families and students, finances field trips and purchases grade-level spirit wear through fundraising and membership. Parents, grandparents, aunts, uncles, cousins, friends, teachers, staff, school board members, police officers, firefighters, local businesses are all welcome to join the Watervliet PTA! A yearly membership is $6 per person.

PTA membership brings many benefits, not only support for our local PTA unit but also the national and state PTAs’ advocacy efforts for children. New York PTA dues have helped to support students and educators; implement e-cigarette bans in all NYS schools; provide drug prevention, training and treatment; and protect and increase parents’ rights, to name a few. Members also have special benefits with business partners through the national PTA.
