The Watervliet High School Athletic Hall of Fame inductees for 2022 include a longtime teacher/coach, several alumni who served as coaches and an Olympic competitor.
A total of six nominees will be recognized by the Athletic Hall of Fame Committee during the 10th WHS Athletic Hall of Fame Induction Ceremony & Brunch. The event will be held in the Watervliet High School cafeteria on Saturday, October 8 at 11 a.m.
Congratulations to the following individuals who will be inducted into the Athletic Hall of Fame:
- Nick Fitzgerald, WHS Coach & Class of 1988
- Melique Garcia, WHS Coach & Class of 2010
- Lou Horan, Class of 1997
- Gordie Johnson, WHS Coach & Class of 1976
- Moreen (Scully) Petrella, WHS Coach/Contributor (1972-1986)
- Jeremy Smith, Class of 1997
