Update: Three positive COVID-19 cases reported April 26-29

We have learned of the following positive cases of COVID-19 in our school community since our last update:

  • One (1) from Watervliet Elementary School, and
  • Two (2) from Watervliet Jr.-Sr. High School.

For daily positive COVID-19 cases affecting our district, visit the NYS COVID-19 Report Card

With the rise in cases in Albany County, we remind families that rapid and surveillance COVID-19 testing is available for students in our nurses’ offices and vaccinations are available through Whitney Young in our school based health clinic.

Also, please remember that symptomatic students and staff members should NOT come to school. Similarly, it is important for families to keep child(ren) home from school if they are exhibiting COVID symptoms: Fever or chills; cough; shortness of breath or difficulty breathing; fatigue; muscle or body aches; headaches; new loss of taste or smell; sore throat; congestion or runny nose; nausea or vomiting; or diarrhea.

Your cooperation and support of our schools is appreciated as we continue to work together to make this a safe, healthy and successful school year for our students, staff and families. Thank you.
