WCSD welcomes new teachers, staff

The Watervliet City School District welcomes several new teachers and staff members for the 2019-2020 school year. We also welcome a new school administrator and recognize two administrators who have switched roles.

Maria DeNovio has been appointed as the new assistant principal at WJSHS, taking the place of Kelly Webster who is currently the elementary school principal. David Wareing has moved into the role of athletic coordinator/assistant principal at WJSHS, while Michael Foust is now assistant principal at WES.

New teachers and staff at WES include:

  • Meghan Dwyer, Physical Education
  • Kelly McCall, Grade 2
  • Daniel Ciaramella, Grade 6
  • Kaitlin Shannon, Special Education
  • Angela Wareing, Teaching Assistant
  • Allie Tedeschi, Long Term Substitute

New teachers at WJSHS are:

  • Kristin Lofink, English Language Arts
  • Madeline Rehm, English as a New Language
  • Cameka Williams, Math
  • Anna Makovik, Math
  • Cayla Pratt, Long Term Substitute English Language Arts

Two new educators have joined the Capital Region P-TECH staff at WHS:

  • Genevieve Balunis, Science
  • Eric Bersch, Math

We also recognize two staffers who were hired midway through the 2018-2019 school year:

  • Allan Gadsden, Family Outreach Coordinator
  • Alex Rivera, Hall Monitor
