Several Watervliet track and field athletes will head west on the thruway this weekend to compete in the New York State Track & Field Championships in Webster, NY.
The Cannoneers – Jah-Sir Boyd, Jaden Williams, T.J. King and Anthony Morelli – will compete with the top runners in the state for the 4×100 meter relay on Saturday, June 13, with the support of alternates Matthew McBain and Tahier Inman.
Jah-Sir has also qualified to compete in the long jump.
“Qualifying for the state championships is a tremendous accomplishment and a reflection of the hard work, dedication, and commitment these student athletes have shown throughout the season,” said Athletic Coordinator Brian Ford. “We are incredibly proud of this group and wish them the best of luck.”
Go Cannoneers!
